Purple Community Angel

We appreciate all of our volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to Purple Community — we couldn’t do it without you! Each quarter the Purple Community Team highlights a volunteer who has gone above and beyond their call of duty as our quarterly Purple Community Angel.

Congratulations to our Purple Community Angel of the quarter — Dominic Russell!

Dominic as a passion for helping others. He first became involved with Purple Community when his friend informed him of a volunteering opportunity at Van Andel Institute. He fell in love with the mission at VAI and felt empowered knowing that his efforts directly impact important biomedical research happening in Grand Rapids. Dominic is a familiar face at the Institute; he can be seen volunteering for Purple Community every Wednesday, helping our team prepare for different events happening within the community. When Dominic is not volunteering with Purple Community, he’s working at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital as a part of Guest Services, being active with his church, advocating for those with disabilities, cheering on the Michigan Wolverines and spending time with his friends and family.

Thank you for your continuous involvement and support Dominic!
