Wife, mother, part-time employee…and possibly superhero?! Rory Beth Novosad is one of Purple Community’s dedicated Road Warriors through the Fifth Third River Bank Run!
2017 marks the 12th Anniversary of The Fifth Third River Bank Run Road Warrior Program. Road Warriors are local event ambassadors who are chosen by a panel after personal interviews. These individuals represent the Fifth Third River Bank Run at community events and take to social media to share their opinions on training for long distances.
In an effort to get healthier, Rory Beth began her running career several years ago. She valued not only the “me time” it provided, but also the chance to stay healthy for her children and family. When she happened upon an advertisement to become a Road Warrior, she couldn’t pass up the opportunity! It was a chance to be expertly trained in something she already wholeheartedly enjoyed.
However, Rory Beth’s connection to the River Bank Run goes so much deeper than health. In years past, Rory Beth’s mom was her partner in the run. It was something they had in common and enjoyed doing together. Recently her mother lost her battle to pancreatic cancer. By running and raising funds for Team Hope with Purple Community, she is joining in the fight to end this disease that affects so many!
Running a race of any distance is an incredible undertaking. Rory Beth knows running a 10k is something she can and WILL do!
