Van Andel Institute’s Purple Community is moving at a fast pace to make the largest possible impact on our community and the cancer and Parkinson’s disease research happening at Van Andel Institute. With this comes changes to help us be as successful as possible.
Our Purple Community Cabinet is taking on a new structure, and we are thrilled to share this new structure with you!
The Purple Community Cabinet is comprised of community leaders who want to make an impact on cancer and Parkinson’s disease research at Van Andel Institute by supporting the fundraising initiatives of the Purple Community program. These individuals help create new events and partnerships, promote Purple Community events and activities, and volunteer throughout the year at events around West Michigan and beyond.
Our cabinet is comprised of three levels. You can learn more about our new Cabinet structure here.
Executive Cabinet — 12 members (Check out our current leadership here!)
- Chairs (2)
- Vice Chair (1)
- Event Chair (1)
- Marketing Chair (1)
- Volunteer Chair (1)
- Student Ambassador Program Chair (1)
- Members at Large (4–6)
Ambassadors — Maximum of 50 members
Purple Community Student Ambassadors — 20–25 students
With the launch of our Student Ambassador Program this month, some of our Ambassadors will have the opportunity to serve as mentors to support our Student Ambassadors as they learn leadership skills and plan and execute a Purple Community event of their own.
This is a wonderful chance for students to learn from leaders within our community, and for Ambassadors to share their professional expertise.
Our Purple Community Cabinet Ambassadors are crucial to the success of Purple Community — we could not do it without them.
If you are interested in taking on a larger role within Purple Community, please visit our website and learn more about the cabinet and how you can get involved.
