We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Purple Community Student Ambassador Program for the 2019–2020 academic year! This is a great way for students to get hands-on nonprofit experience and serve in a leadership role.
Through Van Andel Institute’s (VAI) Purple Community, schools, businesses and local organizations hold events to support research into diseases like cancer and Parkinson’s. The best part? 100 percent of funds raised go directly into the labs at VAI. That’s 100 percent HOPE!
We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated students who want to serve as part of a committee and gain first-hand experience in event planning and community engagement.
This is not your typical volunteer experience! The Student Ambassador Program offers incredible professional experience-building opportunities.
- Work with your fellow Student Ambassadors to plan and execute one major fundraising event with assistance from Purple Community staff and cabinet members.
- Promote Purple Community on social media to build a stronger Purple Community network.
- Develop your own signature event with your fellow ambassadors.
- Attend monthly meetings at Van Andel Institute to learn more about how your efforts are making a direct impact on human health, both right here in West Michigan and around the world!
Through this program, you will gain valuable experience and service hours to help advance you on your path to higher education or your future career choices.
Take the next step in your passion for research and community action and grow as a leader through the Purple Community Student Ambassador Program!
