Hops For Hope

Posted By

What is better than having an excuse to go grab some food and drinks with family? Being able to use that excuse while also raising funds for research! Our Hops for Hope partnerships just so happen to provide an opportunity for this!

Through our Hops for Hope program, we partner with area restaurants, bars and breweries to help spread our message of 100% HOPE throughout West Michigan. Our partnership typically run a month long promotion and during this time our partners donate $1 back to research at Van Andel Institute for every giveback beer served.

We kicked off our 2018 Hops for Hope season a few blocks down the road from the Institute at Atwater Brewery in July! Janky Brain – inspired by Purple Community Cabinet Member, Alison Sheltrown – was their featured giveback beer of the month,  raising awareness and funds for Parkinson’s disease research at Van Andel Institute. In September we headed over to Rockford and our friends at Honey Creek Inn. This fun restaurant put their hearts into raising funds for cancer and Parkinson’s research.

Through the remainder of October, we are partnering with Pigeon Hill Brewing Company located in Muskegon. Pigeon Hill is raising funds for breast cancer research at Van Andel Institute, so head over to Pigeon Hill today and treat yourself to great food and a Double Dunes DIPA.

During November we will be partnering with JW’s Food and Spirits in Grand Haven for the third year. For every Odd Side Ales’ Citra Pale Ale served, JW’s will donate $1 to pancreatic cancer research in honor of their previous owner who passed away from the disease in 2007. Make sure you put it on your calendar to head over to the lakeshore for a day and help with this great cause (and be sure to snag some of their legendary white chicken chili)!

We love partnering with these area businesses and are always seeking new partnerships! Have a brewery that is looking to get involved? Please submit your information through our event request form!
