You may consider taking your participation to the next level, by pledge walking or running in honor or in memory of the people in your life that have been touched by cancer, Parkinson’s or other diseases.

The Consumers Credit Union Purple Community 5K would not happen without wonderful volunteers! Volunteers are needed in many different aspects of the event such as setting up the course, registering participants, checking in participants and clean up. How much is the registration fee?
Registration fees vary by participation type. To compare options view the “event details” section.
Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the event and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.
How can I register?

How long is the race?
The 5K route is 3.2 miles. You may choose to walk or run. If you are unable to walk or run, you can still register and join us on race day. We are always looking for people to cheer on our runners and walkers.
How can I become a volunteer?
The success of the Consumers Credit Union Purple Community 5K depends heavily on the support we receive from our volunteers in the months leading up to the event and on race day. There are many ways you can get involved. Click here for role descriptions to find out where you may best fit!
Are pet and strollers allowed at the event?
Pets are prohibited from the event, but strollers are permitted.
What happens if it rains?
We reserve the right to cancel or change the date or location of the Consumers Credit Union Purple Community 5K in its sole discretion, including in the circumstance of extreme weather. It is likely, however, that the event will happen rain or shine. Please plan and dress accordingly.

Does the Consumers Credit Union Purple Community 5K require fundraising?
You are not required to fundraise, but we do encourage all participants to fundraise above the entry fee. Every dollar raised makes a difference for people with diseases like cancer and Parkinson’s. 100% of all donations goes directly towards biomedical research and science education at Van Andel Institute to improving the health and change the lives of current and future generations.

Is there a deadline for fundraising?
You have up until April 28 (race day) to secure top fundraising incentive prizes. All other prizes can still be earned through May 31, 2018.
How do I form a team?
You can set up a team by going to our CrowdRise page.
One of my team members registered as an individual when they meant to join my team. How do they correct this?
