Bee Brave Celebrates 10 Years!

Ten years ago, a group of like-minded individuals who are passionate about supporting breast cancer research came together to form Bee Brave. Over these past 10 years, Bee Brave has evolved into much more than a group of people that put on fundraising events—it has become a community that supports those fighting breast cancer and honors those whose battle has ended. It has become a haven of hope for those who need it and a home for people to share their stories and celebrate their victories over breast cancer.

What makes Bee Brave unique is that all events are organized by a group of dedicated volunteers and supported by local business sponsors who give countless hours to support the cause. On top of that, Bee Brave partners with Purple Community which means 100% of all the money raised at Bee Brave events stays right here in West Michigan and supports breast cancer research at Van Andel Institute (VAI).

Even after all these years, Bee Brave shows no signs of slowing down. The group continues their mission to support breast cancer research and has set a 2017 fundraising goal of $75,000! This goes above and beyond their record breaking fundraising efforts last year where they raised over $60,000. It has truly been an honor for VAI and Purple Community to be a part of such an inspirational event series.

A variety of events are hosted throughout the year to reach this lofty goal, and the next event is the
Bee Brave 5K taking place on Saturday, October 7. Registration for the Bee Brave 5K is officially open now! Check out the Bee Brave page for event information, registration and volunteer opportunities. Join them in their mission to fight breast cancer and support research at VAI!
