Celebrating Country Kicks Cancer in 2018 at B-93 Birthday Bash

If you have been to a country concert at The Intersection over the past year, you have probably seen the Purple Community table. That means you attended a Country Kicks Cancer concert, where $1 for every ticket sold is donated back to cancer research right here at Van Andel Institute (VAI)!

Our ongoing partnership with The Intersection and B-93 is one that we absolutely love! Attending country concerts, seeing fans in purple, and raising vital funds is what makes these events so special.

At Birthday Bash on June 8, we celebrated raising more than $16,000 in 2018 — that’s a whole lot of tickets! Birthday Bash is always a great time to get out to Fifth Third Ballpark and spread some HOPE!

We also had the honor of welcoming our friend Tim Hollern to the stage. Tim has been living with stage 4 colon cancer since 2011, and thanks to dedicated people like the scientists at VAI, he is continuing to thrive and share special moments like Birthday Bash and many of the country concerts at The Intersection with his family and friends.

As if that all wasn’t awesome enough, we also launched our new Country Kicks Cancer logo and merchandise at Bash, so keep an eye out for all the new items at your next country concert!

Birthday Bash was a blast, and we aren’t done yet!
